Incremental backup
Only backup changed files since the last backup. De-duplication is at the core of our software, only backing up the changed parts of large files (MySQL, Outlook PST etc).
Scheduled backup
Create scheduled backup tasks to run daily, weekly, or monthly at specific times. Receive notifications for failed backup runs.
Snapshots
Backup snapshots are copies of data which remain untouched. This is a great way to protect against Ransomware and enable access to data at a particular point in time.
Initial seeding
Too much data to upload? We'll send you storage drives for you to copy your data onto, and you send the drives back to us for lightning fast upload (Only available in South Africa)
Backup restore
Restore a particular backup from our user friendly software at the click of a button. Choose to restore to original backup location or a custom location.
Reverse seeding
Too much data to download? We'll get the data to you on storage drives in no time at all (Only available in South Africa)
Team management
Create and manage team members or departments and assign to specific backup packages.
Team roles
Assign Admin or User rights per team member or department.
Team limits
Set a limit on the number of machines per backup package and control the storage quota per machine.
Cross platform backup
Our software works on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Backup package management
Manage backup packages from a central dashboard, and control the backup size per machine, as well as the number of machines allocated to a particular backup package.
Backup task management
View backup tasks and the status of each backup on all your backup machines from a central dashboard.
Backup status notifications
In the event that a backup task fails to run, you will receive a failure notification email. Backup package and machine quota emails are also sent when backup space has been reached.
Remote control (coming soon)
You are able to remotely initiate the running of backup tasks on machines. You will also be able to add new backup tasks, and edit which data is backed up in existing backup tasks.
Transfer security
All backup endpoints are secured with HTTPS. We use a strong protocol, strong key exchange and a strong cipher.
Encryption
All data is encrypted with AES-256 blowfish encryption which can be compared to that used by banks worldwide.
Ransomware protection
Our snapshotting functionality helps mitigate ransomware threats, giving you peace of mind.
POPI compliant
Bolt Backup is fully compliant with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
GDPR compliant
